About the VASER technique
What is Vaser liposuction?
It is a.
What's the difference with normal liposuction?
Vaser liposuction liquefies fat using ultrasound before aspirating it, whereas traditional liposuction aspirates it directly with a cannula. This allows for more precise sculpting, greater muscle definition, and increased skin retraction. It also employs specific devices and cannulas, such as Microaire or Vaser.
What areas can be treated?
From large areas such as the abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs, to small and difficult areas such as the double chin, arms, or ankles. Several areas can be treated in the same procedure, although not all patients are candidates for doing everything: this is determined by the surgeon after evaluation.
What is the procedure
Do you need general or local anaesthetic?
It depends on several factors, such as the number of areas to be treated, the patient's body habitus, and the volume of fat to be removed. In general, the treatment of one or two areas can be performed under local anaesthesia, while more extensive procedures may require sedation or general anaesthesia.
How is the recovery?
A minimum of one week of rest is recommended. Compression garments (a girdle) should be worn for approximately one month, and drains can be left in for the first few days. Initial discomfort is managed with medication and lymphatic drainage. Sporting activities are usually resumed between 4 and 5 weeks, unless medically contraindicated.
Are the results permanent?
The removed fat cells do not regenerate, so the result is long-lasting. However, maintaining a stable weight with a balanced diet and exercise is key to preserving the contour, as the remaining fat cells can increase in size with weight gain. The definitive result is consolidated between 4 and 6 months.
Price and areas
How much does VASER liposuction cost in Girona?
There isn't a single price: it depends on the number of areas, the volume of fat to be treated, the type of anaesthesia, and the complexity of each individual case. The price is personalised after an assessment, which is free and without obligation, and you can explore financing options.
Do you see patients from outside Girona?
Yes. We regularly see patients from all over the province of Girona and the Costa Brava (Salt, Figueres, Blanes, Lloret de Mar, Olot, Banyoles, Palafrugell, Sant Feliu de Guíxols…). We coordinate assessment, pre-operation, and surgery as efficiently as possible for those coming from further afield.
