About facial mesotherapy
What is facial mesotherapy?
It is an aesthetic medicine technique that, through superficial micro-injections, administers a cocktail of active ingredients (hyaluronic acid, vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, minerals, coenzymes, and amino acids) directly into the dermis. It deeply hydrates, improves sagging, and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, for more luminous, smooth, and youthful-looking skin.
Mesotherapy is used to treat a variety of conditions, including:* **Fat reduction:** It can be used to target stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise.
* **Cellulite reduction:** Mesotherapy can improve the appearance of cellulite by breaking down fat deposits and improving circulation.
* **Skin rejuvenation:** It can be used to improve skin tone, texture, and elasticity, as well as reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
* **Hair loss treatment:** Mesotherapy can stimulate hair growth in individuals experiencing hair thinning or baldness.
* **Pain relief:** It can be used to treat chronic pain conditions, such as arthritis or back pain, by delivering medication directly to the affected area.
It improves skin quality: deep hydration, radiance, firmness, and treatment of fine wrinkles. It is indicated for combating skin ageing and initial sagging on the face, neck, décolletage, and the backs of the hands, and is suitable for all skin types.
Is mesotherapy the same as PRP?
Not exactly. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is an advanced form of facial mesotherapy: instead of a cocktail of vitamins, plasma obtained from your own blood, rich in growth factors, is injected. Both are applied by micro-injection and can be combined; the doctor decides the most appropriate technique according to your skin.
What is the procedure
How many mesotherapy sessions are needed?
Generally, between 3 and 6 sessions carried out every three or four weeks. The specialist doctor adjusts the interval according to individual skin type: mature skin usually requires less spaced-out appointments. Results are noticeable from the first session, and then periodic maintenance is recommended.
Does mesotherapy hurt?
It is a very well-tolerated treatment. Very fine needles and superficial microinjections are used; a slight prick or brief stinging sensation may be noticed, and a topical anaesthetic cream can be applied if desired. It is an outpatient procedure and allows you to resume normal activities on the same day.
Can it be applied to the neck, décolletage, and hands?
Yes. In addition to the face, mesotherapy is also commonly applied to the neck, décolletage, and the backs of the hands, and PRP is also used for hair loss. These are areas that show signs of aging significantly and respond very well to treatment.
Price and areas
How much does facial mesotherapy cost in Girona?
There isn't a single price: it depends on the type of mesotherapy (vitamin cocktails, hyaluronic acid, or PRP), the number of sessions, and the areas to be treated. The price is personalised after a medical assessment, which is free and without obligation, and you can explore financing options.
Do you see patients from outside Girona?
Yes. We routinely see patients from all over the province of Girona and the Costa Brava (Salt, Figueres, Blanes, Lloret de Mar, Olot, Banyoles, Palafrugell, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, etc.). If you are coming from further afield, we coordinate assessments and sessions, grouping your visit whenever possible.
